The PASF Training Center provides behavioral support to shelter dogs by providing basic obedience training, social time and play groups for dogs, and post adoption assistance to families. Our mission is to keep dogs physically and psychologically fit during their stay in our shelter. We use modern, positive reinforcement techniques to work on basic manners, leash walking skills, and evaluate each dog to determine where the animal will be most successful. Each day, we ensure each dog is walked, enjoys play time with other dogs and people! We are committed to managing the stress of the shelter experience by allowing the dogs to run free in our play yard, work on new skills, and keep active and healthy.
The PASFTC provides basic training classes and social hours for Petaluma residents as classes are available. These classes are free with every adoption and we encourage all adopters to take advantage of follow up training. The key to transitioning a new dog into your life is establishing a solid routine, clear rules and appropriate activity. We train dogs and humans!
When you adopt a dog from PASF, you will go home with training support. Need help transitioning your new dog with your resident cat? Wondering if you can add a dog to your household and not sure how? Are you concerned about housetraining? We can help with all this and more! We believe follow up support is the key to long term success for our animals and their families.
