		<name>Lars</name>
		<gender>Male/Neutered</gender>
		<breed>Hound/Doxie</breed>
		<age>7 mo</age>
<description>Lars is just a baby at only seven months of age; he's friendly and loves to play. He can be quite independent, and true to his hound genetics, not terribly bonded to his people. But he loves people! And he loves to vocalize. Another hound trait! He is so in love with life, though, that he makes you laugh. He never stops wagging, and loves other dogs, although he can be pretty relentless in play. He's getting better and better with dogs the more he's able to meet. He does well with handling. Because he's very fast, and likes to try door-dashing, he needs a home with older kids, 14 and up. We're looking for a home with dog experience for this active fellow. No cats- he's predatory with small animals.</description>

		<name>Bella</name>
		<gender>Female /Spayed</gender>
		<breed>Border Collie mix</breed>
		<age>2 yrs</age>
<description>Bella is a special girl- she's very beautiful, and certainly friendly, but she doesn't have a lot of confidence; so she's unsure of her place in this scary world. She has not had a lot of socialization; she is nervous and worried in new situations, and needs someone who will gently and patiently work with her to help her gain confidence. We know she will revere her owner to the point of adoration- what this means for her adopter is that she will want to be with you at all times, and may even want to accompany you to the bathroom! While this can be very charming, the reality is that she will possibly be difficult to leave alone, and will need a lot of her adopter's time. If you have a busy family, she will not be the dog for you. Bella is a border collie; these dogs have a lot of energy, and were bred to work sheep. This means they are capable of traveling miles every day, running endlessly! Transition that to suburban living and you can have problems. So be prepared for daily exercise, and a way to keep your very intelligent dog entertained! They make great agility dogs. Obedience training is a great exercise as well. Bella will need a gentle touch- she's very sensitive, so patience and consistency are very important for her. Harsh tones, let alone physical reprimands, would be devastating for her. A trainer who promotes positive reinforcement will be a great help. Bella is two years old. We're looking for a home where she won't be outdoors by herself; she does bark when she's left alone. Kids ten and up, please.</description>
