Adoption Process

Once you have chosen an animal to adopt, a shelter officer will give you an application to be filled out, after which you and the shelter officer discuss the animal's prospective situation with an eye to the animal's safety and comfort.

Important topics might be how high your fencing is (containment) or how much time the animal would spend with you. We believe that animals should spend a good bit of time with you.

If everyone agrees that your site and situation are suitable for the animal, you read and sign a document relating to the ethical treatment of animals.

If the animal is already spayed or neutered, it may go home with you on the spot. If, however, the animal needs to be spayed or neutered, the staff makes an appointment with a participating veterinarian and the animal can go home as soon as it has has the operation.

Adoption fees are as follow:
